Do I have to take home the animal I purchase?
There are several options if you are not in the market for a pet pig or goat!
Buy-Back Option: Select the buy-back option and the animal is purchased by a livestock dealer for market price and you only pay the difference between market price and the amount you bid. Super easy and convenient!
Donate to the Central PA Food Bank: With the Bid, Buy, Donate program, the animal is processed and all the meat is donated to Blair County food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens. This option benefits the 4-H or FFA member who raised the animal, and helps feed our neighbors with high quality locally raised meat. Your donation goes twice as far!
Fill your freezer! Several local processors are available to haul your animal for you and turn it into wrapped and frozen cuts! Please contact the processor ahead of time to ensure they will have space for your animal.

What’s the Big Idea?
Blair County 4H and FFA members have been working hard all year to raise and train their livestock project animals! As a part of these programs they also learn leadership skills, goal setting, organization, communication and dozens of other life skills that will help them succeed in their future careers and businesses! We are proud of these young entrepreneurs and excited to see how they serve our community in the future!
Now It’s Your Turn!
We invite you to attend the Livestock Sale on August 18 and support these amazing youth members! You can introduce yourself and give them some encouragement, make a donation to our program or to an individual member, go ahead, bid on some animals , or if you really want to be a Rock Star Supporter, buy an animal at the sale and fuel the next generation of community leaders here in Blair County!
